So, this month I'm on exchange with students from Japan and Canada in a Cross Cultural College, Joint Seminar Program. I wish I had better pictures, but anyways, I arrived here this morning at Mt. Allison University with the students from KGU, Queens and Mt. A! The UofT students took a flight here from Toronto which stopped in Montreal before continuing on to Moncton New Brunswick. Everyone here is super nice, and this month should be really fun! The campus itself is quite a difference from what I'm used to at UofT, with Mt. A being a rather small contained university but at the same time some of the buildings are on the other side of town (mind you, the town isn't actually that big, so it's not a strenuous journey to get there ;D)! Sackville has a lot of neat shops and eateries, and there's actually a music festival going on this weekend called the Sappy music fest. The tickets are pretty expensive so I don't think any of us are going to bother going - but we can hear it from the edge of campus and it sounds pretty good! Indie/hipster - ish, but I didn't really listen enough to make an actual judgement. When I get better pictures of campus I'll add them to this post and until then, I don't think I'll have anything new to put up until we go on our day trips. For now it's pretty much just going to be working on our projects and the actual academic portions of the course!

So one thing I really miss about both Hong Kong and China is the food. The food was really cheap and wonderfully delish. So since I'm procrastinating on my packing I figured this would be a good time to relive the nommyness also known as Chinese food. I promise this will be my final post about China, don't worry xD. Tomorrow I head to the East before the Japan portion of the trip....Sackville I'm coming for youuu! Enjoy this collage of food from the tour portion of the trip:

So I was looking through some of my old photos, and I was surprised to find some photos I took when I was 14 which don't look half as bad as I would expect them to look. So....here we go, a blast from the past:
Once upon a time, a long long long time ago, my choir, High Park Choirs of Toronto (yes...I'm forever a choir girl) went to St. John's, Newfoundland for a music festival (Festival 500). It was 2007, and it was my first long-ish trip away from home (apart from summer camp). We had a ridiculously fun couple of weeks meeting choirs from around the world and causing a ruckus at Memorial University. We were introduced to some amazing adult and children's choirs such as the professional group Anuna and the Australian Children's Chorus (I think the only reason they stand out in my mind was because I couldn't get enough of their accents...). We sang almost every day attending workshops and performing for the other choirs.

The trip was great because we had some time to travel around Newfoundland and look at the sights (even though it rained 80% of the trip and I don't think I appreciated it as much as I should have seeing as I was 14/15). We went whale watching, saw some of the landmarks, and visited a couple of the museums. And no, those aren't penguins...I know, I was disappointed too - I half expected them to break out into song and dance like in Happy Feet but ya....they're Puffins.
And there it is, I'm extremely proud of past me for taking scenic photos, rather than just photos of people doing dumb things which is literally the only thing I did from age 15 - 17. The photos I took from our choir trip to Germany is a perfect example of this & therefore un-bloggable....*sigh*
